Worker Privacy Policy

InsightGap operates a hospitality staffing platform that connects qualified workers with restaurants and venues needing short-term shift coverage in the Atlanta area. This policy explains what personal information we collect from workers, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect
- Identity & contact — your name, mobile phone number, home address or neighborhood, and ZIP code.
- Work profile — the roles you work (e.g. bartender, server, host, kitchen), years of experience, and the languages you speak.
- Credentials — food-safety and other certifications (for example ServSafe), including the certification type and expiration date. Verification of these credentials is performed by our verification partner (see Section 7).
- Location data — approximate location and, where you enable it, real-time location pings used only to estimate travel time to a venue and to confirm arrival for a shift. See Section 6.
- Shift & reliability data — shifts you are offered, accept, decline, or miss; how quickly you respond to offers; clock-in/out times; and ratings from venues, which we combine into an internal reliability score.
- Messages — the content of SMS/text messages you exchange with our platform, including your replies (e.g. "YES" to claim a shift).
- Technical data — timestamps, delivery receipts, and basic logs needed to operate the messaging and matching system.
3. How we use your information
- To match you with shifts that fit your role, location, availability, and credentials.
- To send you shift offers, reminders, and operational messages by SMS.
- To estimate travel time and confirm on-time arrival.
- To calculate your reliability and rating scores, which affect the order in which you receive offers.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, and keep the platform safe.
- To comply with our legal obligations and to enforce our Worker Terms.
4. Text messaging & consent
By providing your mobile number and opting in during onboarding, you consent to receive recurring automated and manual SMS messages from InsightGap about shift offers, scheduling, and account matters. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of non-essential messages, or HELP for help. Opting out of messages may prevent us from offering you shifts, because text messaging is our primary way of reaching workers.
5. Employment eligibility (I-9) — important
Please do not send copies of your passport, Social Security card, driver's license, work-authorization documents, or other I-9 paperwork to InsightGap. We do not collect, request, or store employment-eligibility documents. Any I-9 process happens directly between you and the venue that hires you.
6. Location data
We use location data only for staffing logistics: estimating how long it will take you to reach a venue and confirming arrival for a shift you accepted. Real-time location pings, where collected, are retained for a short period (no more than 7 days) and are not sold or used for advertising. You can decline or disable location sharing; doing so may reduce the shifts we can match you to.
7. Who we share information with
- Restaurants / venues — when you are matched to or accept a shift, we share the information the venue needs to staff and contact you (such as your name, role, relevant credentials, and phone number).
- Verification partner — our credential-verification partner confirms certifications and work readiness. We share only what is needed for that verification.
- Messaging provider — we use a third-party SMS provider (Telnyx) to deliver text messages.
- Platform partner (OfferLetr) — we partner with OfferLetr, a separate worker-facing staffing platform. Workers are onboarded and communicate through OfferLetr, and InsightGap and OfferLetr exchange the information needed to run the staffing service together — such as shift details, worker profiles, matches, availability, and shift-status updates. Each company uses this information only to provide the staffing service to you. Neither company sells or shares it with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Your use of OfferLetr is also governed by OfferLetr's own privacy policy.
- Legal & safety — we may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of workers, venues, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
Mobile information & SMS consent. Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, only with the vendors who help us deliver our messaging service (for example our SMS provider, Telnyx, and phone companies) solely to send the messages you signed up for.
8. Data retention
We keep your worker profile and shift history for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and backup purposes. Real-time location pings are deleted on a short rolling schedule (see Section 6). You may request deletion of your account as described below.
9. Your choices & rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of text messaging by replying STOP. To make a request, text us or email hello@tryinsightgap.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. Note that some shift and payment records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations even after an account is closed.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit who can see it.
11. Children
The platform is for workers who are at least 18 years old (or the minimum legal working age for the role, where higher). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by text or email. Continued use of the platform after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
